Children from three to eight and their families adore this fun, cheerful and educational sixty minute musical.
Writer and playwright Julia Donaldson and illustrator Axel Scheffler are responsible for a long list of beloved kids stories and plays, including The Gruffalo, Room on the Broom, Princess Mirror-Belle, and The Smartest Giant in Town.
The plot of Charlie Cook’s Favourite Book
Charlie loves reading, especially when the book is about pirates. His sister doesn’t read, she thinks it’s boring. Charlie decides to change her mind, but how? Aha – maybe she’ll be convinced if she reads a book about a pirate, who is reading a book about Goldilocks, who is reading a book about a knight, who is reading a book about a.... you get the picture!
The creative team and actors
Come dive into eleven different stories told in one brilliant musical, all brought to life with puppets, songs and laughter. The fun is performed by Georgie Samuels, Pierre Hanson-Johnson and Jazmine Wilkinson, directed by Samantha Lane and composed by Barb Jungr, and the set and costume is by Ellie Mills. The puppets are by Maia Kirkman-Richards and lighting by Sherry Coenen. Stage managed by Olivia Preston, this is a Little Angel Theatre, Lowry and Rose Theatre co-production.
