Dirty Dancing description
Dirty Dancing - The Classic Story on Stage breaks box office records wherever it goes. More than two million people saw it during its five year run at the Aldwych Theatre. Now it's back at an exciting new purpose-built London venue to delight us all over again.
Welcome to the beloved stage version of the film that changes lives, loved by millions of us across the globe. It retells the story of Baby's holiday at Kellerman’s resort in the summer of 1963, the charismatic dance instructor Johnny Castle, and the friends whose lives she soon becomes intimately involved with. Hungry Eyes, Hey Baby, Do You Love Me?, The Time of My Life and more provide the setting for a truly magical musical experience.
Welcome to the Capital Theatre Westfield
Dirty Dancing takes to the stage at a brand new London venue, the Capital Theatre at Westfield, offering just 620 seats in an auditorium designed so cleverly that every seat gets perfect views and you're never more than nine rows away from the stage. It's an intimate and exciting setting for this wonderful love story.
The musical is packed with beautiful tunes, a total of 35 hit songs played by a live band, who are part of an enormous 40-strong team of actors and musicians. All the magical moments from the movie are included: Baby carries the watermelon, there's the stunning final dance with the lift, and we realise all over again that 'nobody puts Baby in a corner'.
The show is written by Eleanor Bergstein, who wrote the film itself, and produced by Karl Sydow in association with Lionsgate and Magic Hour Productions.
