Hadestown description
It comes with epic music, lyrics and a book by Anaïs Mitchell, the acclaimed singer-songwriter. The show has been developed with - and is directed by - Rachel Chavkin in a magical collaboration. The show originally hit Broadway like a freight train, winning 8 of 14 Tony nominations along with the Grammy for the Best Musical Theatre Album.
Making a massive impact at the Walter Kerr Theatre on Broadway, Hadestown ran for 1000 performances over the Atlantic. Now it’s on the way to the West End, due in town for February 2024, and already keenly anticipated. The staging is outstanding, with dramatic strobe-like effects throughout.
