Harry Potter And The Cursed Child description

There's sorcery every second in Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, the most awarded play in history and "one of the most defining pop culture events of the decade" (Forbes). This is the 8th Harry Potter story, and it is bringing the magic back to London's West End.

The Story

Based on an original story by J.K. Rowling, Jack Thorne and John Tiffany, the story is about what happens 19 years after Harry, Ron, and Hermione saved the wizarding world. As young adults they’re back to enjoy an extraordinary adventure, joined by a brave new generation that has only just arrived at the legendary Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Prepare for spectacular spells, a mind-blowing race through time, and an epic battle to stop mysterious forces while the future hangs in the balance.

About the show

This one-of-a-kind theatrical experience is packed with "thrilling theatricality and pulse-pounding storytelling" (The Hollywood Reporter). It will leave you "audibly wowed, cheering and gasping" (The Telegraph), as "visions of pure enchantment send shivers down your spine" (Rolling Stone). As The Times said, "It is out of this world, it's magic, it's a hit."

The cast and creatives

The enormous cast includes David Ricardo-Pearce as Harry, Claire Lams as Ginny, Ellis Rae as Albus and Thomas Aldridge as Ron. Jade Ogugua plays Hermione and Eve de Leon Allen is Rose, Steve John Shepherd is Draco and Harry Acklowe plays Scorpius.

The show has movement by Steven Hoggett and set designs by Christine Jones. Katrina Lindsay is responsible for the costumes, the lighting is designed by Neil Austin, there's music by Imogen Heap, the sound design comes from Gareth Fry and Jeremy Chernick takes care of the special effects. Jeremy Harrison has created the illusions and magic. Martin Lowe is the Music Supervisor & Arranger and Julia Horan CDG is the Casting Director along with Lotte Hines. Jeremy Chernick is responsible for the Special Effects and Finn Ross is the Video Designer along with Ash J. Woodward. Carole Hancock has created the Hair, Wigs and Makeup, and Lisa Buckley and Mary Halliday are the Props Supervisors. All of which makes for a top quality production stuffed to the brim with imagination.
