Room On The Broom description
Jump on board the broom with the Olivier Award-nominated children's show Room on the Broom this November. Everyone, whether they’ve read the best-selling picture book by Julia Donaldson and Alex Scheffler or not, loves this fun musical treat.
So here’s the plot. The witch and her cat are travelling on their broomstick when they pick up some hitchhikers. There’s a friendly dog, a beautiful green bird and a frantic frog. But they’re too heavy for the broomstick and it breaks – CRACK! Then a hungry dragon turns up. Will there be room on the broom for all of them?
This magical show delights everyone aged 3 and upwards with its beautiful costumes, vivid colours, fabulous music and brilliant puppetry. Having already become a big children’s theatre favourite, this time around it is directed by Olivia Jacobs, designed by Morgan Large, with puppet design by Yvonne Stone, lighting design by James Whiteside, choreography by Morag Cross and music by Jon Fiber and Andy Shaw.
Author Julia Donaldson and illustrator Axel Scheffler, the dream team behind smash hits The Gruffalo and The Gruffalo’s Child, are delighted to present the fun, returning to the capital to wow young audiences all over again for the festive season.
Julia Donaldson also created A Squash and a Squeeze, Monkey Puzzle and Taby McTat. Axel Scheffler has brought several of Donaldson’s books to vibrant life with his fabulous pictures, as well as illustrating a load of popular children’s books by other authors. Together they create the kind of stage magic that children absolutely adore. Don’t miss the show that The Times calls a ‘high energy treat’.
