The Comedy About Spies description
Ready for a laugh? This one's for you, a brand new show from Mischief Theatre. The Comedy About Spies is an action packed farce stacked with eye-watering stunts, great gags and hilarious routines, a joyous experience in the West End for 2025.
Misunderstandings, miscommunication and mistaken identity sit at the heart of the plot in a show tipped to be just as funny as the other plays and productions from this always-riotous team.
British Mole + KGB + CIA = comedy chaos!
A comedy thriller is set in 1960s London, the plot involves a rogue British agent who steals the plans for a top secret weapon. The CIA and KGB send agents to the Piccadilly Hotel to figure out how to find the mole and get the file back. Then three actors in town to audition for the title role in the first James Bond film turn up, and things quickly start to go wrong.
About Mischief Theatre
Mischief Theatre dates back to 2008, founded by three students at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. Henry Lewis, Jonathan Sayer and Henry Shields have gone on to delight comedy lovers across the UK, US and Europe with their unique blend of physical comedy, brilliant plotting and madcap humour. The Play That Goes Wrong was an award-winner, and their TV series The Goes Wrong Show was just as popular. The Comedy About A Bank Robbery, Magic Goes Wrong, Peter Pan Goes Wrong, Mind Mangler, and Mischief Movie Night have made them a beloved fixture on the UK comedy scene.
The team behind the fun
The Comedy About Spies is written by original Mischief company members Henry Lewis and Henry Shields, directed by Matt Di Carlo, and produced by Kenny Wax and Stage Presence in association with Jo Danvers.
