The Great Gatsby description

Are you ready for the roaring 1920s, an era that still inspires and delights with its music, fashion and liberated morals? You’ll love this Tony Award winner of a new musical. The Great Gatsby is coming to London, fresh from its sell-out Broadway run, not to be missed.

If you want to experience a new musical that’s a shimmering, sparkling spectacle simply exploding with vibrant energy, this one’s for you. Produced by the brilliant Korean musical producer Chunsoo Shin, who has won his country’s most prestigious theatrical award five times, the show is inspired by the classic American book by F. Scott Fitzgerald.

Wind back time to the Jazz Age with an awesome creative team

The drama is set in the glittering Jazz Age, set on Long Island where the rich of New York lived and partied. You can expect a hugely entertaining night out. Directed by Marc Bruni (Beautiful: The Carole King Musical), this is a tale of extravagance tempered by a sad longing that one man is desperate to fulfil. But his love belongs in the past and today is an entirely different world. Can eccentric Gatsby win Daisy’s heart again, steal her from her husband’s arms and roll back time to a happier life, or is he doomed to fail?

The choreography is by Dominique Kelley (So You Think You Can Dance), and the book is by Kait Kerrigan (The Mad Ones). The awesome originals core, packed with jazz and pop-influenced delights, comes from Jason Howland (Little Women) and Nathan Tysen (Paradise Square). Jason Howland is also responsible for the Orchestrations, along with Kim Scharnberg, plus the Music Supervision and Arrangements. Scenic and Projection Design is by Paul Tate dePoo III, the Costume Design is by Linda Cho, the Lighting Design by Cory Pattak and the Sound Design by Brian Ronan.
