The plot
When Cornley Polytechnic Drama Society unexpectedly comes into money, they’re thrilled. When they try to put on a serious 1920s murder mystery play, things go wrong right from the start... and never improve. As one disaster follows another, you’ll have tears streaming down your face.
The Play That Goes Wrong is written by Henry Lewis, Jonathan Sayer and Henry Shields from the Mischief Theatre Company. The original production has been on stage in London since 2012 and won the 2015 Olivier Award for Best New Comedy. It has toured the UK several times, spent two years on the Broadway stage, and is still playing on stage off-Broadway.
